KiKi the puppy

This is Kiki. She looks like a small rat terrier, but is much calmer than a terrier. She follows my youngest daughter whereever she goes. We also have her sister and she looks like a mini pincher. She is all brown, but two shades of brown. Thus why her name is Brownie.

All is Well!

So everything is turning out better. My middle daughter is recovering fine. I'm have gotten some rest also and I feel like myself again. It is strange how something out of the blue happens and your whole world seems different with different priorities. I feel like I am now allowed to laugh again. I have been back at work for two days now and things are just the same. It was as if I wasn't even gone. Not much built up and infact, I was told I really got a lot done on my status report from someone who did not know I was gone for a week.
It is amazing how a human body can recover so quickly. It was just last wednesday that she had the teretoma removed and now she is feeling so much better. She is able to walk for an hour without pain. She is just using Advil when things hurt-mainly seems like gas.
So we are back in the world again.
Thanks so much for all of the concern! I loved the flowers at OWL site!
It is great to have friends.

tumor

Found out this week that my middle daughter 17 years old, turns 18 in August had a tumor in her abdomin. Stress, tension, unsurity, but atlast it should be almost over. Of course it turnout to be the worst case scanero that would happen and they had to take out one ovary. This was a really odd situation.
She had surgery on Wednesday. On thursday she came home. At 2:00 am on Friday morning she started throwing up. Then every hour after that she threw up again. Until 7:00am. I called the doctor and they called back at 9:00 am. Then they checked into things and decided that it was the pain medication making her throw up. If you ever had anything with your middle hurt, you know that throwing up creates great pains there. ironic that the medicine to reduce pain ended up giving her more pain.
So now we are just using advil. hope that helps.
So far today, it is going better. She did have some eggs to eat around 2:00.
Rented 5 movies for her to watch this weekend. Just watched life is a holiday or something with Queen Lativa in it. Cute. They are watching Casanova now. All three girls. I moved the mattresses on the floor in the living room. Couch on one side, the recliner in back of the mattress. Then they can either lay down or sit or recline. It seems to be working. It looks alittle odd and I feel like my house is a total disaster, but it is better than walking up steps or laying on a couch all of the time. She can move around a little. She doesn't get up much though.
The dogs have to be in a seperate room, because they might try to jump on her and that would hurt. They are sad and miss her.
She should be better in 2 - 6 weeks so it should end up alright.

Mother's Day

My sister's birthday is Sunday also. Either there is nothing going on or everything at the same time. I have to work on Saturday from 1-7 and then on sunday from 3-7. Makes the weekend hard to get other things done. I asked my girls to get me a hanging plant for the front porch. That will be a nice gift. I'm pretty sure they will pick one up.
One daughter found a job at a restaurant. Now it makes it hard to go on a vacation. I'm thinking about Virginia, or south Carolina. I like beaches but my youngest want something besides a beach. Thought virginia could bring in a little history too. Then I get on the web site today and see a trip to Cancun for 4 days with flight and room for $400. all inclusive. That would not be too bad if we go early enough. I don't think we need passports yet. I'd like to get those because I think it is easier to go between boarders with them. Being married and divorced I think I need a birth certificate and marriage license. Like that is something I felt like keeping track of! I know I had it at one time, but I can't seem to find those things after moving houses. It is probably in a box somewhere in the basement. The dreaded basement.

April!

Oh how I love the spring. I'm sooo glad the winter should be over. I would move to Florida, or anyplace that doesn't have much of a winter in a heart beat if it wasn't for my kids and my parents. Soon my kids will be off at college ( 3 more years) and maybe then I'll move somewhere warm.

This new house is alot better for my dogs. Remember I have five of them varments. All of who are supposed to be small. I say supposed to be because the vet is always telling me they are too fat and I really have to agree. The daschunds are supposed to be around 15 pounds or so and my all weigh over 25 pounds. But they seem so happy. They are 5 and 6 years old and they don't do any exercise any more. They perfer to sleep. Still I have them on diet dog food (healthy maintenance One). They don't get left overs because with the girls boyfriends, I don't have any of that any more. Still they get fat. So out of the five dogs, 3 are fat and two are skinny.
Anyway, about the house and the dogs. The old house I got to know the cops pretty well because the neighbors would call about them barking. At this house, I've been here for a year and a half, and not one neighbor complained!! Still, the dogs are in the house most of the time. When one decides to bark, they all do. At the old house I bought the shock bark collars to put on them. When it went off, they whined like it really did hurt. This week I got tired of them barking and thought with spring, they will want to be outside, so maybe I could control the barking. I bought these ones that spray citris in front of them when they barked. I only bought two of them, because they are a little pricy. I put them on two of the dogs. Clay (my favorite) barked and it sprayed him. He turned on his side and looked all around for the source. Then he went outside. It must have sprayed him again, because I found him under the porch. Since he is my favorite, I took off the collar. Still he did not bark for the next couple of days. The other collar I put on Luke the Cocker. He had it spray him a couple of times and stopped barking. With these two not barking the other three are not barking.
I think the two terrier mixes only barked because the other dogs did. They did not have any idea what they were barking at, just if Luke barked, then I must. So it seems to have limited the barking in just one week! I am really impressed. It doesn't seem to hurt them at all, just make them think twice before barking. The girls boyfriend came inside the other day, and said "Wow, it is so quiet, what is different" It was just that the dogs did not welcome him with their barking. Pretty neat stuff.
